Google Browser Size helps you see what others see

Goggle has come out with another browser helping tool for Webpage creators and its called Browser Size. It is a browser window size tool that overlays over your site, or any site you chose, and gives you statisitics of the percentage of people seeing parts of your site. Its not the prettiest thing but it does subtract the toolbar and gauges what your users actually see.

Head on over to Browser Size and check it out against one of your favorite or most visited sites.

Andriod App Review of Evernote

Evernote is where your information can be stored and keeped safe and in one place. You write a note and that paper almost always gets misplaced. You try to put in on your cell and then when you need it, you don't have your phone. Sometimes you save that note on your home computer but now that your at the office, access to that machine is out of the picture. That is where evernote comes in. It allows you to save those items and as long as you have internet access, you have access to your notes online. I have used Evernote at work and now that it is in the Android Market, I plan on using it even more often.

I mainly used Evernote on the PC and it is a simple program to use. Type the note, take a screen shot and save it, thats all there is to it. The Android app allows you to take a snap shot, upload a file, take a text note or even an audio note. Evernote is free to use but it does come with limits
Monthly uploads of up to 40mb
Uploads can be of images, audio, ink and pdf files

Go premium and you get 500mb a month uploads, enhanced sercurity and more. You can check out the free and premium comparisons here.

So far I have not found a reason to dislike Evernote on my Andriod phone. I have used it on my Moto CLIQ without error and I plan to use it often.

If your the type of person that takes lots of notes and finds yourself using scrap paper and losing them from time to time to time, I suggest you give Evernote a try. It is gonna save you some time, if not lessen how often your looking for a lost note again.

Philly Still Trying for WIFI

The city of Philadelphia tried to blanket the city with WIFI. Earthlink was part of the WIFI initiative but then pulled out and a private investment group took what they had. Now the city wants that hardware at the tune of 2 million dollars. What plans does the city have with WIFI now, "make it available in targeted public places. " We should ask for what "targeted places" means before city dollars are spent.

Allow me to introduce you to The Verizon Bandaid.. while supplies last

Check here for the users story.
UPDATE: Verizon is offering replacement covers. If you need one, keep checking at Verizons website because they are out of stock.

About the Motorola Cliq for T-Mobile

I have had a T-Mobile Wing mobile phone for quite some time now. Of my share of mobile phones, this has been the most versatile and does everything I need. It has its quirks now and then but it is OK. With more Android phones available and their multitude of downloadable apps along with the phones potential, I am leaning towards getting one of them. I like the G1 and the MyTouch but what I want is the Motorola CLIQ.

What does the Motorola CLIQ have that would move me away from a Windows Mobile Phone, let me tell you. It has MOTOBLUR. This allows streaming of your social networking feeds to your handset in realtime. It has a 5Megapixel camera for clearer shots. ( I wish it had a flash as well but that is not a deal breaker for me.) It comes 3G and WIFI capable, has Bluetooth Connectivity and a Full Qwerty keyboard. The keyboard is a must have for me right now. From my understanding of T-Mobile 3G speeds, when they go up to the 7.2Mbps, this phone will be able to take advantage of it.Check out the video below to see the CLIQ in action.

What you get in the box besides the phone is a 1400mA battery, Charger, USB Charger, Stereo Headset and a 2GB SD Card. A 2Gig card is not bad to start with but if you plan to take many pictures, listen to lots of music and more, your gonna want to get a bigger card.

Check out TMOBILE.COM or MOTOROLA.COM for more spec info.

One more thing....... the CLIQ is available for pre-order starting 10/19/09.

Using Ink for more than Writting..

This is something off the wall. Here is a guy, Calvin Harris, that reproduced sounds that he used in his newest single with ink technology. He has some women in bikinis, standing on conductive pads and partially painted with conductive ink paint. The women and the producer had small current travel through their bodies that would be choreographed into sound and rhythm. Check it out.

Tron.. back to fight again

When I was younger, I saw Tron in the movies and thought it was awesome. It was back in 1982 when it was released and I can still remember seeing the Light Cycles on the big screen. Motorcycles weren't all that fancy then and watching a Light Cycle was amazing. Flash forward to today and a new Tron is working on getting released for us to enjoy and is currently titled Tron Legacy.

I heard that in this story, Flynn's son Sam is now 27 years old and is looking into his fathers disappearance. Sam ends up getting pulled into the digital world and finds his father. They continue on a cyber-journey to stop the current evil of that universe which is now more dangerous and advanced.

Check out the Tron 2 Blog to see more updates and pictures from the up coming movie as well and see the tailer at Apple.com

Still more about Motorcycles..the Can Am Spyder

Ever seen a motorcycle with 3 wheels. Usually the 2 wheels are in the back but what if they were in the front. That is how the Can Am Spyder is made. With it's Y build, it is more stable than most other 3 wheelers going round corners and at high speed. It has Stability Control, Traction Control and Anti-Lock Brakes to make sure you are safe. On top of all that, you can not start it without the correct coded key. Here is a pic that shows a rider at high speed in the rain. I don't suggest going too fast in the rain, but is your gonna do it then this is the bike to be on.
Not long ago if you wanted to ride on one of these, you could not go to a nearby dealer but that is no longer the case. We have 5 dealers in Pa now ( YAHOO )so you can see it, ride it and take it home.

Considering buying a Motorcycle.. Now may be the right time

We all hear of the the stimulus package that the President put into action. I hear and hear but don't see it doing much but I finally found something in it that could be worth while. Looks like a motorcycle purchase is included and you can save up to 10% on your purchase, up to $2500. Here is an excerpt of an article I found that explains more.

Vehicles eligible for the motorcycle tax deduction added to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act are likely to include on-road and dual-sport motorcycles, as well as motor scooters and mopeds, according to the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA). The tax deduction -- first reported by the AMA on Feb. 14 -- was added at the eleventh hour to the landmark $787 billion stimulus package that President Barack Obama signed into law on Feb. 17. The law also includes a 10 percent tax credit up to $2,500 for street-legal electric motorcycles purchased by December 2011.

To illustrate the impact of the tax deduction, consider the case of a new motorcycle purchase of $10,500. For a 7.5 percent sales tax rate, the tax would be $787.50. To take advantage of the new law, purchasers would include that amount on their 2009 federal income tax return, meaning that their taxable income would be reduced by that amount before taxes are calculated. States set their own sales tax rates, so the actual amount of savings will depend on the taxpayer's state and tax rate.

Looking for a Contractor in Pa.. Here is a place to look

Looking for a Contractor is easy for me because there is more than one in the family, starting with WH Construction. I also try to do things myself but sometimes you have to break down and get an expert. KYW1060 posted an article that Contractors in PA must be registered with the state and that information can be found online at the Attorney Generals Site. The site has company descriptions, phone number and location and currently contains over 26,000 listings. It may not be the end all of your search, but its a good start.

Here is a link to the original article at KYW160 for a good read

It came from the deep..well, the sewer is kind of deep ya know..

Here is a very disturbing find, at least for the guy who ran the camera down the sewers under Cameron Village in Raleigh, North Carolina. It looks like something pulled from a movie. You know, the aliens heart beating or the chest of some poor soul before the alien breaks out.( hmm how many times can you say alien in a sentence.) An expert on freshwater bryozoa and an officer with the International Bryozoology Association, Dr. Timothy S. Wood, says that it is worms.. Here is what he said..".... They are clumps of annelid worms, almost certainly tubificids (Naididae, probably genus Tubifex). Normally these occur in soil and sediment, especially at the bottom and edges of polluted streams. In the photo they have apparently entered a pipeline somehow, and in the absence of soil they are coiling around each other. The contractions you see are the result of a single worm contracting and then stimulating all the others to do the same almost simultaneously, so it looks like a single big muscle contracting. "

My response, "That's nasty and cool''" Check out the video

I saw Elvis..and got a Root Beer

That's right, I saw Elvis when I went to get lunch today with the family. He is the guy in the picture, just behind the trunk of that old Chevy. After church we went to our favorite spot called Weber's. Whenever we go we get burgers, fries, cheese-fries, hot dogs and of course Root Beer. There is never a long wait to get food there. You pull up to a spot and leave you head lights on and they come up and take your order. The good tasting food comes to you in a tray that hangs off your window and you eat in your car. The kids get a kick out of it each time and your never rushed. If, after you eat, your in the mood for something sweet you can also get a milkshake here that is just as good as their food. You don't get bothered by the wait staff there and they are always very pleasant. If your every around stop by and get a good meal at a decent price. Webers can be found off Route 38 and Kinds Road in Pennsauken, NJ. Webers has been feature on holly eats and got a 4 out of 5. Check em out.

Hello and Welcome

Welcome to the Tan Rabbit. Follow me down the Rabbit Hole as I blog on stuff I like, learn, enjoy and just plain want to share.

Today at Midnight, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen will be released in theatres. How exciting is that. I have seen preview after preview, and a sneak peak of the movie ~ wink wink ~and I can say it is gonna be Awesome. Michael Bay did a great job with this movie as did Megan Fox and Shia Labeouf. I enjoyed the effects of the first movie and can't wait to see Devastator on the big screen. If the big screen is what you desire, check the movie out in IMAX. There is supposed to be a scene of one of the autbots, don't want to spoil it and say who, where the autobot is show to scale which would make him about 50 feet tall. Check out the last trailer here
